PAX East – Day 4 (and home to PDX)

Sunday was the last day of PAX, and also the day I travelled back to PDX and my lovely family. I made a much better effort at meeting people and playing more games, too!

PAX East – Day 3 – SATURDAY

Saturday started out difficult, but it turned out really well – I played games, met new friends, and was a PANELIST AT PAX EAST

PAX East – Day 2 – FRIDAY

Friday, day 2 of PAX East, was much busier in terms of attendance – so many people! I got to do more play-testing, and went out for dinner with friends!

PAX EAST – DAY 1 – THURSDAY

My first day at PAX East was also my first experience of a huge American convention. It was HUGE – about twice the size of the largest event I have attended prior to that.

TOKENCON – What We Played

We attended TokenCon 2023 as exhibitors in the Indie Zone, and while our focus was testing our own games, Bubble Net and Mycelia, we also wanted to give back to our fellow designers and play their games. While Cat spent most of her time at the booth, George was in charge of play-testing as many other games as possible.

Our Monster Play-testing Weekend

We finally had a WHOLE weekend to dedicate to play-testing our prototypes! This is the overview, more details to follow as we process and implement what we have learnt!

Tabletop Network/BGG.CON 2022 – 4

Day 4 of our TTN/BGG adventure is day 1 of the actual BGG convention. I had no idea what to expect, so I was very glad to already have a posse of friends and connections from TTN to keep me from wandering the corridors, aimless and alone, haha.

New Design – Bubble Net

Bubble Net is a game about humpback whales bubble-net feeding – try to let as few fish escape as you can, you need to eat! This is the first prototype and test of the game. It went well!

Short Circuit – getting the buzz going

The first game George and I ever designed together was based on an idea I had about electronic circuits. We played a few variations on the original game, then literally and figuratively shelved it. Now, years later and with a lot more game design experience under our belts, we are reworking it. First of all,Continue reading “Short Circuit – getting the buzz going”

Evergreen Tabletop Expo 2022

On Saturday, the 4th of June, 2022, we attended the Evergreen Tabletop Expo in Redmond, Seattle. It was our first visit to Seattle, and as we crested the hill and saw the city laid out below us, I was delighted to feel excitement fizzing inside my chest. I have travelled so much, and felt soContinue reading “Evergreen Tabletop Expo 2022”
