PAX East – Day 4 (and home to PDX)

Sunday was the last day of PAX, and also the day I travelled back to PDX and my lovely family. I made a much better effort at meeting people and playing more games, too!

PAX East – Day 2 – FRIDAY

Friday, day 2 of PAX East, was much busier in terms of attendance – so many people! I got to do more play-testing, and went out for dinner with friends!

PAX EAST – DAY 1 – THURSDAY

My first day at PAX East was also my first experience of a huge American convention. It was HUGE – about twice the size of the largest event I have attended prior to that.

TOKENCON – What We Played

We attended TokenCon 2023 as exhibitors in the Indie Zone, and while our focus was testing our own games, Bubble Net and Mycelia, we also wanted to give back to our fellow designers and play their games. While Cat spent most of her time at the booth, George was in charge of play-testing as many other games as possible.

TOKENCON – DAY 3

Sunday, the last day of TokenCon 2023, was luckily a bit slower – but we still had a constant flow of interested players – and that night, we headed home to PDX!

TOKENCON – DAY 2

The Saturday of TokenCon, as with all multi-day weekend events, is the busiest day. We girded our loins and partook of the free breakfast, and then the crowds hit and kept hitting all day.

Target Audiences

Whether we like it or not, board games are a product, and products are designed to appeal to a certain sector of the population, whether niche, hobby, or mass – understanding the audience, and the part we want to target, is an essential part of the process.

Play-testing at BGG.CON

An update on the prototypes we play-tested at BGG.CON and the ones we left at home – where are we now? What’s coming next for Drayer Ink games?

Tabletop Network/BGG.CON 2022 – 8

The end of an amazing experience at TTN and BGG! We finished the week with some games, some shared meals, some laughs, and a long flight home to our wonderful pets.
